Why Personalization Matters

When you personalize what you offer, it hums with authenticity. Infuse your creations with what makes you sparkle, with what brings you joy, with what feels like a part of you. Even if the recipient doesn’t know why it matters, they’ll feel that it does. Make it yours in a way only you can.

Please note: This is how I practice personalization—your way might look completely different, and that’s exactly as it should be.

Take a moment

A handmade colorful painted art project featuring a cutout of a plant with white leaves and a small note reading 'STAY CURIOUS'.

Notice what keeps calling to you:

  • Look at several things you’ve created recently. What colors, shapes, or themes keep appearing?

  • What do you find yourself drawn to again and again, even across different mediums?

  • Pay attention to how those motifs, marks and signs make you feel: Centered? Aligned? Grounded?

  • Ask: “What wants to show up in everything I make?”

⬇️

Nurture Your Practice

A collection of black and white doodle patterns, including dots, squares, hearts, spirals, zigzags, lines, a face outline, glasses, and numbers from 1 to 10.

Tools for discovering your creative DNA this week:

  • Keep a list of what you're naturally drawn to (colors, shapes, themes, textures)

  • When tempted to follow a tutorial exactly, ask “How would I do this my way?”

  • Notice what stays the same even when you switch materials and mediums

  • What in life brings you calm and joy? Let that influence your work

Let it Bloom

Four colorful painted bookmarks on a piece of paper, pink with white dots and rainbow, a blue and green leaf pattern with dotted background, a rainbow gradient pattern, and a sun with vibrant colors. Art supplies including brushes, palette with paint, and a box of gouache paint are also visible.

Questions for deeper reflection:

  • What themes or symbols keep appearing in my work without me planning them

  • How does my deep love for _______ show up in what I create?

  • What would someone recognize as “mine” even if my name wasn't on it?

  • When I resist following someone else’s way, what emerges for me?

A Gentle Reminder

Your creative needs shift with life's rhythms. The word that found you today is simply a reflection of where you are right now—not where you'll always be. If you took this quiz next week, next month, or next year, you might discover a completely different word calling to you. That's not inconsistency—that's being human.

Your creative spirit is allowed to need different things in different seasons.
