The Ripples Go Far

I just received a note from someone who took a workshop with me a year ago. One class. A single moment of creative invitation.

Since then, she’s been making her own tokens—bright circles of color and hope—and leaving them for strangers around town.

I’m sitting here in tears, honestly. Because this—this right here—is the work. Not the perfect composition or the clever caption or the polished product. But the ripple. The handoff. The kindness being shared.

It’s overwhelming in the best way: to know that something I offered once now lives on in someone else’s hands, in someone else’s neighborhood, sparking connection and comfort in places I’ll never see.

So, if you’ve ever wondered whether a small gesture matters, let this be your answer. It does. It ripples. And it returns in ways you can’t predict.
