Begin with Color

Color speaks directly to the heart.

It doesn’t need perfect lines or recognizable shapes to move us.

What kind of color?

  •   Fill your page with colors that make your heart sing

  •   Let colors dance together — blending, bleeding, embracing

  •   Scatter dots of color like confetti across the page

  •   Choose colors that match how you feel right now and let them spread

  •   A rainbow explosion, or just one favorite color in different hues

  •   Colors you always reach for, or ones you usually shy away from

Any colors work — bright or soft, warm or cool. Use what you have: markers, crayons, paints, colored pencils, even food coloring or spices.

This one's nice to do with someone. Invite a child, a partner, a parent, a friend — even a pet (paw prints count). There’s something about creating side by side, each in your own way.

Let your hand move. Let your mind rest.

After you’re done, if you feel like it:

- Share a word that captures how your color play felt

- If you created with someone, tell me who joined you

- Let your colors meet the world — share a photo if you'd like

- Or simply sit with what you made

No rules. No right or wrong.
