The First Limited Edition of 2026 in the Works

Preview

I’ve been spending the quieter hours of the past week returning to something I love—slow, layered making.

These Limited Edition Curated Collection boxes coming in January began the way many of my favorite pieces do: with a handful of intuitively painted originals, made as inspiration struck with no plan except color, rhythm, and mindful movement.

I filmed a little bit of the process as I worked, so I’ve added the video below if you want to see how these pieces first came into being. It looks simple … it’s anything but. The order in which the colors are layered, the different consistencies of the various pigments, the way my wrist moved, the resistance the paper offers — all of it plays into the final result.

The fine-art prints of this limited collection of originals arrived last evening and unboxing them felt like receiving future versions of my own work—familiar, yet slightly transformed.

Now begins the part I enjoy most: turning each print into a one-of-a-kind piece with hand embellishments.

Over the next few days, I’ll be:

  • adding colored-pencil textures to deepen some colors and lift others

  • layering metallic gel-pen details that catch the light differently depending on how you hold the piece

  • adding soft marks and tiny gestures with fineliners and POSCA markers

  • pulling out unexpected shapes that were hiding in the original layers

Each one will take on its own personality. Even when I try to repeat something, I know the piece will tell me what it wants to be in that moment. That’s part of the joy — these hand-embellished pieces won’t just be reproductions; they’ll be small original artworks ready to go to a loved one or be framed on a nightstand or desk.

I’ll share a few photos here as I go, so you can see the transformation from print → embellished print → curated set.

This is the part of making that almost never gets seen — the hours at the table with everything scattered everywhere, fingers seeped in paint, getting lost in small marks and tiny choices. It’s the opposite of the polished reveal, but maybe that’s why I love sharing it here.

It feels honest. Human. Unrushed.

More soon,

Mansi
